p.24, Eq.(2.13): the
symbol M should be twice underlined
Chapter 16: on some
occasions the word bimodal is
perhaps better replaced
by crater-like or annular (still looking for a
proper name of these strange distribution functions)
p.214, Eqs.(12.15),(12.16):
the epsilon in both equations
should have been printed in boldface.
Apparently this is due to a problem in compiling the original Latex
code, so it cannot be excluded that similar errors with single symbols
occur at other places in the book.
Section 12.3.2 and paragraph 2
on p.225: The so-called Nose-Poincare Hamiltonian (Laird,
Leimkuhler et al., 1999/2003) is actually identical with the one
reported earlier by Dettmann and Morriss (1997), see the book by Hoover
(1999) for details. It is also suggested that the efficiency of the
so-called Nose-Poincare method is relatively poor (Hoover, private
communication, 2007). - Thanks to Bill Hoover for these remarks.
Bibliography: very
unfortunately, it seems that many of the `backreference' page numbers
in the bibliography were printed incorrectly. Presumably this is due to
the publisher having added two blank pages after two chapters to the
original manuscript without updating the backreferences accordingly. As
far as I
can see, the backreferences are correct up to, say, page 200. After
page 200 please add 2 pages to all backreference page numbers.
